Team Management Sites: Some Options

Right now if you are the coach for a team and you want to have a website you have 2 choices. The industry leader is Eteamz run by Active.com. They have several options for teams ranging from free to a premium version for over $75/year. A relative newcomer to team management sites is League Lineup which is very similar to Eteamz. What we’ve found is that both of these sites take some time getting setup and do require someone who is comfortable w/ technology.

You can tell if you’re on a team site created by one of these two as you’ll see LOTS of information and tabs. The background will probably be black w/ 12-15 tabs down the left side, along with the 10 tabs along the header. We need to have that many tabs because there is a lot of difference between “announcements” and “news. You might also be lucky enough to be subjected to an obnoxious song or flash video that keeps repeating (probably the team mom who got stuck putting the site together thought it was “cool”).

What we saw at Kudda was an opportunity to get into the team management market as the 2 top dawgs were just not cutting it. What was interesting is that lots of other companies saw the same opportunity. I’ve come across 10 new team website providers in the last 6 months. Unfortunately, they’re all newer versions of the Eteamz model. Fortunate for Kudda!

What makes the Kudda team manager different will be the simple modular look and the total integration of Kudda videos. Coaches will be easily able to set up their team page and customize it to fit their look. We believe that less clutter and simplicity is best. And w/ the use of the Video Clipboard, coaches can create playlists of videos from the Kudda library and share them w/ their team. Perhaps the coach wants to show the team which drills they will be doing in practice or a set play that they need to learn. Perhaps it’s off-season agility and strength work-outs. Either way the coach can now reach their team 24/7.

Kudda will continue to develop tools that empower the coach and helps them do a better job. These tools will all be part of KuddaTeams.
