Weeks 6, 7 & 8 Summary and Highlights

With one final week remaining in the regular season MIAA, the playoff teams are decided, but the seedings are not. Calvert Hall holds the current edge over McDonogh for the Red Division after their decisive victory over the Eagles on May 5th. The Cardinal victory was fueled by Pat Kelly’s (UNC) 3 goal and 2 assist performance as well as Kelton Black’s own hat trick. See highlights below:

The top seed will be awarded to the Cardinals if they defeat St. Mary’s in their final game, however a loss and an Eagle win over Mount St. Joe will give the top seed to McDonogh.

St. Paul’s rounds out the Red Division as a lock for the third spot, and looks ahead to arch-rival Boys’ Latin for their season finale. The Lakers find themselves in a similar position as the Crusaders, at a lock in the 3rd slot. Boys’ Latin enters their final conference game at an even 6-6 (9-7 overall) after dropping games to McDonogh and Gilman the past two weeks. See highlights of the BL-Gilman game

The Lakers have one win versus a current play-off team, coming last Friday in their homecoming match-up versus conference foe St. Mary’s of Annapolis. See highlights

The Saints will be the 2nd seed in the Black Division behind Gilman, who has peaked at the right time, winning 6 of the last 7 games with their only loss coming to Calvert Hall… see highlights of that game

The Greyhounds have received a boost in offensive production from a spate of players, however the shot-stopping capabilities of Senior and Dickinson bound Palmer Murray, has been essential to the recent success of Gilman. The Hounds’ top spot was secured after a 13-4 thrashing of Archbishop Spalding last Friday afternoon.
